Work SterileEnsure a clean work environment. Use a still air box or laminar flow hood, and sanitize all surfaces, tools, and gloves with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Inoculate SubstrateInject 1–2 ml into sterile grain, agar plates, or hardwood-based substrates for expansion. For outdoor cultivation, Chaga must be inoculated into live birch trees or logs under specific conditions. IncubateKeep inoculated materials in a dark environment at 20–25°C (68–77°F). Colonization is slow, Chaga requires patience and long-term commitment.
